Aerial Safety
IMPORTANT! For your safety and the care of our equipment you must adhere to the following guidelines or may not be admitted to the class.
Wear comfortable leggings(tighter fit on lower leg) yoga/type pants.
Wear a t-shirt that covers your underarms.
NO ZIPPERS, BUTTONS AND YOU MUST REMOVE ALL JEWELRY!
No sharp objects on body or any kind, including nails so do a mani/pedi check prior to coming to class.
There are some contraindications for aerial yoga such as heart conditions, veritgo, disc problems and pregnancy so it is important that you let us know prior to taking a class so we can advise you on which class to take or if aerial is appropriate for you at this time.
Hammock height & postures have variations offering something for everyone!
6-8 inches off the ground is used for classes such as restorative and Nidra.
Just above your knee (low aeiral) is used for restorative, yin, therapeutic, and for those with limited flexibility.
Hip height is used in basic and mixed level but can be lowered based upon your request.
In any class you can always stay on the ground if you prefer. Think of the hammock as a bolster, block or strap that can support your entire body. Just as in any other yoga class it can be modified. If you like to fly and have a more challenging practice, it will be offered when you and your instructor feel you are ready.
