Workshops

Whether you’re looking to enhance your yoga experience or you’re seeking new experiences, we have workshop opportunities that combine yoga, sound, women’s embodiment and art. Be sure to sign up for our email list to get notified when workshops are added to our schedule. We’ll also be sharing on social media.

  • Intro to Yoga

If you’ve been intrigued by yoga but not sure where to begin, this class is for you!

We’ll start exactly where you are – whether this is your first class or you’ve done a few online. Through exploring the foundations of yoga – breath awareness, movement, and relaxation – you’ll gently rejuvenate your whole body and invite your mind into a calm focus. This class is a guided practice with ample space for questions and curiosities as they arise.

    Wednesdays, June 24th ,July 15th

    Two dates available

    Investment: $25 per class

  • Mindful Knitting

In this monthly gathering, we’ll blend mindfulness and creativity through the art of knitting. Whether you’ve been a lifelong knitter or are just getting started, you’ll find a supportive crafting community here!

We begin each session with mindful movements to help support our knitting experience – developing a comfortable posture, loosening up the shoulders, and mobilizing the hands. After a pause to set an intention for our project, we begin knitting. (Guidance is provided for beginners to learn the basics and for more experienced knitters to explore new stitch patterns and techniques.) We close our time with a brief mindfulness exercise and gratitude.

The knitting project you’ll work on is uniquely yours! It will be suitable for a beginner (i.e. a scarf) and adaptable to keep experienced knitters intrigued. Once finished, you can keep your knitted item or choose to gift it to someone in need in the local community. (StudiOM will donate these items to the Day by Day Shelter.) Please bring your own yarn and knitting needles. (A limited amount of supplies may be available, but are not guaranteed.)

  • Restorative Yoga & Healing Alma

Join Pam of StudiOM and Roberta Torunsky of Healing Alma for a 75 minute practice that combines the deeply relaxing postures of restorative yoga with the practice of Therapeutic Touch.

This class will include 45 minutes of Pam guiding restorative yoga poses to gently calm, nurture and restore the body, mind and spirit while Roberta gently places her hands on or above energy centers or chakras to encourage a deep somatic sense of relaxation, alignment and renewed vital flow. The practice closes with a 30 minute Sound Meditation while participants rest in savasana.

This practice allows 15 additional minutes at the beginning for a brief explanation of Therapeutic Touch and the many benefits to individuals intrigued by the body's vitality and it's connection to a network of primary energy centers or chakras.

  • Let the Light In - Painting for Peace

This workshop offers an opportunity to explore gentle movement (Asana), mantra, and the art of painting.

Pam will guide participants through movement that supports, opens and soothes the throat chakra - supporting clear judgement and logical thinking. Through mantra you will be encouraged to explore any area of your heart that is afraid to be seen and any area of your expression that is afraid to be heard.
Teresa will then guide participants into a meditative and introspective painting process where you will be encouraged to create what is in your heart.

Join us in a supportive community as we meet each other with compassion and empathy.

  • Mantra: Cultivating a Compassionate Heart

Join Kelsey and Pam to lift your voice and lighten your heart through mantra.

In this workshop, we open to the experience with meditation, vocal practice, and introduction to three mantras, then gently move into journaling, singing, and rhythmic instrument play - all with the intention of cultivating a compassionate heart.
Exploring the mantras through vocalization and contemplation allows their healing energies to be cultivated and resonate deep within.

All are welcome. No special skills, talents, knowledge, or experience are required to participate - only an open heart.
